Michelle is a recent Virginia Tech graduate who has been with EMCVT in a variety of roles since 2011. She is the former director of advertising for College Media Solutions and editor-in-chief of the Collegiate Times.
In her term as director of advertising, Michelle boosted summer advertising sales and helped train and mentor a staff of account executives. She helped develop sales and training plans and sold the first advertising in the Collegiate Times mobile application.
As a writer, she was part of a team that received first place in the Virginia Press Association college contest for coverage of the Dec. 8, 2011, campus shooting and third place for breaking news coverage of the Sept. 23, 2011, earthquake. She has also been published in The Atlantic.
We are thrilled that Michelle brings skills and experiences that are directly applicable to so many of the diverse aspects of leading and managing EMCVT’s student media mission and non-profit business.

Educational Media Company at Virginia Tech, Inc. (EMCVT) manages the student media outlets on the Virginia Tech campus, including the Collegiate Times, College Media Solutions, WUVT FM 90.7, VTTV Channel 33, Silhouette Literary and Art Magazine, Student Publications Photo Staff and the Bugle yearbook. EMCVT’s mission is to provide co-curricular educational experience in business and production of mass media for Virginia Tech students as part of the student activities program. We reach thousands of people daily with our student media products on the Virginia Tech campus and in the surrounding community. EMCVT employs three full-time and one part-time professional staff members and more than 100 student employees. Our offices are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. when Virginia Tech is in session.
