"As Ad Director I have gained experience in hiring, training and managing our team of Account Executives, as well as developing sales promotions for the entire year."

Megan Oliver is the Advertising Director for the Collegiate Times (CT). She manages a staff budgeted to bring in over $650,000 in ad revenue for the 2006-2007 school year. The Collegiate Times is Virginia Tech’s student-run newspaper, but in addition to journalistic endeavors students can pursue more business-oriented goals.

Megan’s staff includes account executives who sell advertising and get paid by commission as well as account administrators who keep track of advertising accounts and are paid by the hour.

Working for the Collegiate Times will look great on a resume, but even more importantly, it will be fun.  With news, features, opinions, sports, reviews, and more, writing for the Collegiate Times is creative. The paper is distributed on-campus and off-campus and has the potential to reach 26,600 students. If you want to be a voice for Virginia Tech students, working with the Collegiate Times is your chance. Download an application here.
