Kim Foley is WUVT’s Business Manager and a DJ. She has also worked with the traffic and engineering staffs for the station. One of the great benefits of working for a student-run, independent media division is that student leaders can try several positions and learn every angle of the business. As Traffic Director, Kim learned about WUVT content and day-to-day operations. As an Engineering Assistant, Kim helped keep the station running while learning how to fix and maintain radio equipment. Now as Business Manager, Kim is responsible for the financial success of the station. There are many more positions to be filledWUVT has 70 or more volunteer DJs each semester that play rock, hip-hop, jazz, Americana, metal, folk, indie, international genres such as Greek and Indian, and much more. WUVT serves the Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Floyd, Giles, Pulaski, and Wytheville communities by playing music that simply cannot be heard anywhere else. In addition to music, WUVT provides news and sports content with local stories and interviews that pertain to its unique audience. Interested in getting involved?
